In another thread a number of us from the Phelan shootout realized we all had accounts in Knight D1.

We have briefly discussed a D1 tournament in Knight as well as possibly all joining into one conference.

Here is my idea, it has 2 parts.

Part 1: We will start a D1 tournament in Knight, maybe call it the Knight Knockout or something. This would be open first to participants in the Phelan shootout and then perhaps to other D1 coaches in Knight.

Part 2: This part is completely seperate from the first part. I kind of like the idea of a bunch of us banding together and forming a really active super conference. Unfortunately, due to issues with some of us aspiring to BCS jobs and others of us happily coaching our alma maters it just doesn't seem feasible at the D1 level.

So I am proposing that we all, or who ever wishes to participate, create new accounts in Knight. If you are not in Knight you can use your normal ID and if you already have an account in Knight at a higher level you may create a new ID, hopefully similar to the first for recognition purposes.

With these new IDs we will choose a D3 conference and all of us take up jobs there. We will be an active group and will basically create a super conference that is very competitive and hopefully will create lots of recruiting cash if we are all making the NT regularly.

What do you all think?

I would be willing to go into Knight under this ID for the D3 superconference.

I also will definitely join. I say if we can get 6 - 8 interested coaches we do it. New coach sign ups begin on Thursday Feb 25, so we could get started pretty quickly.

Looking at conferences I would recommend either the Commonwealth Conference or the State University of New York conference. These are based in the relatively recruit rich states of Pennsylvania and New York respectively.

I am game also. I think it sounds awesome, and besides you guys have to bring along someone you can beat up on consistently. :O lmao

sorry maybe one more idea how about doing it at DII so we arent stuck and DIII as in Phelan not that I mind just an idea

I would say just grab the teams as you get in there. We can't be sure a random coach won't grab a team so I'd say just get them as quick as we can. Both of those two conferences have a number of schools in good locations so that shouldn't be a problem.

As for moving to DII, we will have to start at DIII since a lot of us will be making new ID's for this. But I suppose near the end of the season we can look into all moving up to DII together. That would probably be something we would look into after the first season at DIII though.

Again, I'd like to get atleast 6 - 8 coaches. Both the Commonwealth Conference and The SUNY AC have 2 current coaches in them. So 6-8 coaches would bring us to 8 or 10 coaches.

Personally, I would recommend we join the SUNY Ath Conf. as the two coaches currently in there are Fregoe and tracyr, both of whom are veteran coaches and would fit in well with the guys we would be bringing along to build a super conference.

I just site mailed tracyr and Fregoe. Thought I would see what they think about a mass of new coaches invading their conference.

I also just site mailed all of the members of the Phelan Shootout so we can atleast get everyone aware of this idea.

Jade and Reddevil you were mailed also even though I know you know about it. I just used the Shootout's site mail list. Lol I even sent a message to myself by accident.

Fregoe just replied. Sounds like he and tracyr would be happy for us to join them.

If there aren't any objections I think we will indeed try and move into the SUNY AC in Knight. All of the schools are in New York which puts us in prime position to take advantage of the recruit rich states of NY and PA as well as within reach of much of the New England area and south into the DelMarVa area. With so many coaches in a small area we really need to be in an area that will have a lot of recruits and I think this will fit well.
