Better DITR’s!!! Topic

From today's update announcement:

We have a small update for you today that includes some minor changes we think you will all appreciate:

  • Diamonds in the Rough have been increased by a few ratings points allowing for more players to contribute at the ML level than were previously allowed

Patrick:

Does this mean that the threshhold for who is eligible to become a DITR has been raised, meaning that better players are now eligible, or does this mean that the threshhold is the same but the DITR ratings boosts will now potentially be bigger?

I'd be interested in reading a slightly more detailed explanation for that. (On edit: THUNDERSTRUCK!!!)

I got junk before I'll get junk again. It's the cross I bear.

The ratings boosts have the potential to be larger. The pool of players that are selected from has not changed.

How do you know what a DITR is?

Great, thanks.

Can you answer MikeT's revision to my question?
2/24/2010 2:20 PM
I think we know that answer.

In world correspondence. After the All Star stuff they tell who are DITR's. If they were bad before they still could be bad but they have the potential to improve greatly.

thanks

Will these higher ceiling DITRs have a better chance of actually getting to those higher ceilings?

Becuase, IIRC, plenty of the DITR whining had to do with the DITRs often not getting to the new potential established for themselves ... having an even higher ceiling that they have even less of a chance of getting to sounds like a recipe for more whining, not less

But Mitch hit the nail on the head in his earlier post: expect nothing but junk unless this change is bigger than it sounds. All I have ever gotten were players that were destined to top out at High A becoming capable of contributing at AAA.

So they got a lot better, then. Congratulations!
