I'm curious how many coaches right now are playing for free, lets say they havent paid for a season with their last two purchases.

not for free! But havnt paid in at least 5 seasons. Have 5 already paid for and will have plenty of reward points to get more seasons once these 5 are up.

It has been a while since I paid for a team, about a year, but most of that was due to only having 1 team until recently and having lots of seasons remaining from reward points and a purchase or two from when i moved down to just 1 team.

I haven't paid for seasons in at least six months, but that's only because it took me about three years to figure out that I could buy seasons with reward points.

I don't think last two purchases at all constitutes "playing for free".

My mistake, I assume most people buy by the 10 pack.

So who hasnt paid in the last 15-20+ seasons.

I have played for free for over a year. Last time a bought a team was Feb. 18 2009.

From a business standpoint, I think one could argue that reward points are too high...regardless of how good you are, you should still have to pay for seasons. If you want to give a free season to those that win national championships, fine...but not 3. Most other games here, you get 1 free season, and I think it would be smart BUSINESS to do the same here.

Folks have generally been over-spoiled with/because of reward points.

The reason the number of seasons is so high is because of the number of coaches involved. You have quite a bit more competition trying to win a National Title as opposed to beating 31 other owners in HBD.

And IF the population is substanativly increased due to the restored incentive, then it will have been the right move.

They're still paying out the free seasons whether there are 10 coaches in a world or 300. It makes sense for them to attempt to increase the number of coaches per world because every increase of 1 is a net gain over the current state. I'm assuming what WIS concluded is that the overall revenue of more coaches at D2 and D3 will overcompensate for the increased number of "free seasons" given out by restoring full reward points. That's their risk I guess.

IF it adds 1 more coach it was the right move.

reward point are are set just fine. For mediocure or poor coaches such as myself struggle to achieve reward points.

prior to the reduction in reward points in the sportsbook (which was about 6 months to a year after the reduction in HD reward points at lower levels) I probably went about 2 years w/o dropping more than a few bucks on this game while supporting anywhere from 3-6 teams.
