Cal, I would highly suggest taking a look at some of the consistently successful DIII coaches in your world and sitemailing them with specific questions.

Also check out zhawks' Guide for New Coaches that's pinned at the top of this forum. Then sitemail Z and ask him why his favorite team stinks.

This will be a building season for you, you had to recruit like 10 guys. Man should probably be the defense you play. Not sure on the offense probably fastbreak all your guys seem to have d- and c- no F's i would probably run a normal fastbreak tempo to cut down on turnovers as much as you can.

Do not choose your offense/defense based on the very limited iq's of your new recruits. Choose it based on what you want to play. IQ gets built up quickly. You will struggle this season no matter what though.

And make sure you seek advice from the right people.

a great first step is to read the forum threads over the last few months. and the user guide, as well as zhawk's guide as dalter pointed out. ignore the threads that are like, a 40 page ***** fest. but its pretty easy to figure out which ones those are, hehe.

Not sure where that came from, but I'd be looking at zone to start out. He was probably looking at existing IQ's and assuming that that would be best. it's not. As far as offense, you need to take a look at the FAQ and other info to decide what you want to run, then start recruiting for that. This season is going to be a wash at best so start practicing what you want to build the team with (and I don't think it would be fastbreak, btw).
