i would not expect him to play as well as he did in season 7 ever again, , you better have a real good team around him if he is gonna get 500+ at at-bats

Great speed/baserunning, good splits, I wouldn't have a problem starting him. With that speed it'd be nice if his eye/contact were higher, but that wouldn't make me bench him.

As a 25th man, he'd be ok. You could spot start him at 1B/RF/LF to give other guys rest, and make him your primary pinch runner. If he got more than 100 ABs, something's wrong.

Maybe a .250/.300/.350 guy with an above-average # of SBs and capable of the occasional HR. (I wrote that before looking at his stat line ... I thought you had just called him up ...)

I disagree with pirates in that he can't duplicate S7. I actually think that's about what I'd expect from him on a regular basis if he was in one of my Worlds. OPS between .650 and .700 with a boatload of SB at a great rate if he was used with aggressive manager settings.

If he played a higher skill position, I'd have no problem having him hit 8th in the AL/9th in the NL (I actually use a guy who is similar (not as good splits), but can play CF). Defensively though, this guy is, at best, a RF/LF/1B/DH and I'd hope for more offensive production from an everyday player at any of those slots.

I agree completely with zbrent.

A guy like this is very dependent on the right supporting cast. You can't have a guy like this, use very aggressive base stealing settings and then stock the other 7-8 slots with guys who have 37/10 speed/baserunning combos. Even two horrible baserunners can kill a speed team - unless they are 99 power guys or something.

Any advice on why my team is really not hitting to par......

plus I am thinking about re-signing this guy to another contract...I know he is up there in age, but he still looks worthy of the contract . He wants 3 years 21 mil.

I want to make my team better before the deadline, but I am unsure if I should try to make any changes or not...Any advice would be welcome.

An elaboration on his first point: I would get rid of him asap. There are two types of people on this earth to never trust- The French and those with 2 first names.
