Flaw in Free Agent contract offer Topic

In the L.E.G. the season started and I offered a contract for 707,000 the first year ( he only asked for one yea) and 1.5 million the second year ...he rejected it saying he wanted money distributed more evenly!!! So I offered the same 707,000 the first year and reduced my second year offer to only 1 million ... that made him happy to get less money and he accepted my offer ... WHAT????

From the help on the free agent page:

In a two-year contract, neither season can comprise more than 60% of the total value of the contract. In a three-year contract, no season can comprise more than 40% of the total value of the contract. In a four-year contract, no season can comprise more than 30% of the total value of the contract. In a five-year contract, no season can comprise more than 25% or less than 10% of the total value of the contract.

I understand what the written rule is ...I just think it strange that s free agent would refuse 2.2 Mil over 2 years in order to take 1.7 Million over 2 years ... that's all.

If you understand it then you would know its not strange. WIS has rules in place to limit the signing of bad, longterm contracts. If you had offered him 1.1, 1.1 he would have taken it.

I think the point is it wasn't up to the player. The first contract you offered was illegal.

Well ... I know this isn't reaL LIFE but I do not know of any player who would take 1.7 mil over 2.2 mil and I just thought we are attempting to model real life as best we can while knowing it will be imperfect.

I don't think he rejected the contract. The system wouldn't allow you to offer the contract because it wasn't evenly distributed.

I assume he would have taken 707,000 and 707,000 as well. why increase the offer for the 2nd year when you don't need to?

"jonas1102" and "winner" are mutually exclusive.
