Hey guys, I am looking to get started in Hardball Dynasty. I have a ton of questions, but to start, how do I even join a league?

Any other tips would helpful, either over this or sitemail, I could really use a mentor or twenty.

if you know MLB rules (GM type rules not on the field rules) you may be able to start in a "private" league and do OK - IF you are open to advise and ask for it. Otherwise start with a public league BUT do NOT trade with any owner with a winning team (lots of Sharks in the public waters) and pay attention to learning the rules.

Check out the HBD mentors thread. We actually do have 20 mentors.

I'll second that advice from gumbercules. Get some help from a mentor or 2 on checking out public worlds and picking a team.

You might also take a whirl through the "What we learned from Aaron and Ruth" thread near the top of this forum. There have been updates that change the gameplay some since then, but it's still relevant.
