I need help setting the lineup on my 05 progressive team. I am not sure what to do with Lofton Winn and who to hit leadoff against righties. The lineup recomendation has Lofton hitting 3rd against righties and then his righty platoon against ies. Not sure if he can handle that with only 400 PA. I am also not sure if Lugo should leadoff against righties especially since I do not have a backup SS, not sure where he would go though.

Here is how I have it now against righties, pretty much the suggested lineup.

Loftons righty platoon Rondell White has 400 PA hits 313 348 489 with 12 HR.

I was thinking of going Lofton Ichiro Winn top 3 against righties. Just worried about Lofton getting fatigued. And then I might go with Lugo White Winn against ies. Ichiro would usually hit leadoff but he actually hit a few HR this season. Thoughts?

Personally, I think your plans are good dms. Lofton will be good for roughly 100 games batting in any of the top 3 spots in the lineup (406 + 40 from the extra 10% = 447; divided by 4.5 PAs/game = 99.3).

I might find a way to get Castillo up in the #2 spot vs ies or if Lofton is fatuged. Even though he doesn't steal many bases, getting him to walk in front of Teixeira and Chavez should lead to more than a few 2 HRs or scoring from 1B on a double.

I would also mention that I would be more concerned with stolen base percentage rather than raw steals. If any of your guys have under a 75% stolen base percentage, you may be running yourself out of RBI opportunities in front of your power hitters.

lofton/white platoon has 800+ PA so no worries about fatigue, just set lofton to be auto-replaced by white whenever he falls below 100%.

Ya but I dont really want White leading off.

I think I will just go with Lofton Ichiro Winn against righties and Lugo Winn White against ies with Tex and Chavez in 4 and 5 spots. I can rest Lofton with White against some of the crappy righties in the league to keep him fresh. I could also put Castillo up there for some games as I have a pretty good backup righty 2B/3B with 287 PA 297 avg, he could rest Castillo against ies or platoon with Chavez.

I just cannot figure out why the lineup reccamendation had Lofton hitting 3rd. Is that because he has the highest batting avg on team?

Hmmm, I tried that and it has Lofton Winn and then Lugo in the 3 hole and Castillo batting 9th.

If you use the 1954-04 model, the pitcher hits 6th and tex 2nd.
