I'm leaning towards it meaning I have no chance but I'm not 100% since this isn't a message I've seen very often.

"Following up on XXXXX, it's going to take a miracle to convince this kid to play for us. Do you believe in miracles coach?"

Yeah, means no shot. No reply, the obvious ones (stop calling etc.) or his dad finally called us back I think we should move on etc all mean no shot.
