Allen's better than Smith in general. If you're looking to stay in DIII, Wooden is likely the way to go. But if there's a chance you'll move up one day, Allen has one of the best DIIs and a stronger DI than Smith.

if you are content to stay in DIII, i am a fan of Smith. i'm in the Northwest Conference and we have a lot of long time coaches there. i know a few other conferences do as well.

we could use some more good coaches in Smith!

Right now I'm just considering between Allen and Smith. Part balancing schedules between worlds, part considering getting an early jump on the revised HD. I probably would stay in D3 for a while of I did join.

I'd vote for Allen....D2 and D1 are better. Allen's D3 isn't super great though.

I don't have a team in Smith any more,,, probably 6-8 seasons now, but Allen at all 3 levels was more competetive than Smith. I won a title in Smith with a team that wouldn't have made the tourney in Allen.

I've enjoyed Allen DIII quite a bit. The Capital conference in particular is a lot of fun - many long time/lifer coaches, 90% human every season, perennial top 1-2 in conference RPI (usually #1), active message board with lots of interaction among coaches. In addition, I post DIII and Cap conference recruit rankings after each recruiting season that people seem to enjoy (see the Allen Form - DIII Red Recruit Rankings). The Cap conference has one team available next season and is always interested in good, active coaches. Give us a look.

I vote for Allen DIII...I think it's pretty competitive here. I moved up to DII in Smith right away.

i would probably think the fuller world was more competitive. you can see the population progression for the different divisions in those worlds here

yeah the 2 top Allen D conferences I think are the Capital and North Atlantic.
