Playoffs Brutally Slow Topic

If you aren't in the playoffs, the month it takes to run them is awfully dreary. 3 games/day seems to work fine for the simleagues. Even if I was in the playoffs, I think I'd like to get to the next season sooner.

Comments?Concerns?Scathing Rebuttal?

Make the playoffs and you won't be so bored.

Other than that, I have no idea what you would rather do. The playoffs sim at exactly the same pace as the regular season. There are days off in the playoffs so teams can run 3- or 4-man rotations in the postseason just like in real life. I don't see even the remotest problem here.

It's no fun to sit at home during the playoffs. But that's the penalty for not fielding a good team. Better luck next year.

You should spend the time prepping for next year. Make sure you promote the players that should be promoted. Extend contracts of your upcoming free agents, etc. Granted you dont need a month to do that. But you should be able to spend the time to have a real good plan put together for the following season.

there has been talk of Arizona Fall League being added but it is probably a long ways away.

csherwood took the words right out of my mouth. Looking forward to something like that.

The only problem with the playoffs i have is that there is a long time between the end of the LCS and the start of the world series.

We've got 4 placeholder days then an off day between the WC round and the divisional round. That is too long

They start a playoff round on the PM cycle, always. So if one round was finished on the AM cycle, then there would be a decent delay. They won't play immediately and will start the following day. 5 game cycles away. Haven't seen more than that outside of LDS to the WS, which can exceedingly take for ever.

Even when I'm in the playoffs, I think there are too many placeholder days and too many days off.

IRL, it strains a pitching staff to run a 3 man rotation, and a strong starting performance in Games 1, 4, and 7 is one for the ages. In HBD, too many pitchers can go on the "short" rest with little repercussions. I think it is one of many subtle things intentionally built into the game to improve the inferior team's odds of winning.

Any chance you watched the WS last year?

Clearly not.

3-man rotations are still the norm in MLB playoffs. Most teams just don't have the starting pitching to trot out only 3. And the teams that do win the WS.

I Just lost in the playoffs in game 5 in the tenth inning by a walk off, inside the park home run. I love the HBD Gods

If your guys walked off when the ball was hit, that explains why it was an inside the park homer.
