Too Many Latin Players? Topic

If memory serves, Latin players make up around 20% of RL ML players. What is it in HBD? About 50%? Can't we do anything about this massive influx of immigrant players who lack fundamentals, use illegal drugs and lie about their ages?

You should go live in Arizona!

Unless the internet becomes more strictly regulated- and there are measures being proposed by the way- you can expect illegals to continue flooding our HBD worlds.

You have the perfect user name for a person who would ask that question.

It seems a legitimate question. A simulation is meant to reflect RL. If in RL 20% of professional baseball players are Latino and if in HBD 50% are Latino (or at least have Latino names) then that wouldn't be a very accurate simulation. Instead of just automatically beating me with the racism stick is there anyone here who has a handle on the real numbers? Of course it doesn't really matter; it's just that the preponderance of Ortizs, Hernandezs and Rincons in HBD sometimes gets one a little confused. If we could have a few more Ruths, Cobbs, Dimaggios and Robinsons it might not hurt the game any.

My int'l scout just found a prospect in Ireland.

That's the ticket. Some more Murphys, Rileys and Feeneys wouldn't hurt either.

I'd rather see a cutdown on stupid names like Jumbo Dong, Chad Chad, Hong-Chin Jones and the other 25 page thread there was about stupid names.

It's all randomly generated - one from column A, one from column B. That's why you get Chad Chad every once in a while.

Why not supplement the current list of surnames with all those in the Baseball HOF?

I dont know why they dont just recycle real player names. They must already have a liscense they use them in the sims.

Too many people named Martin, especially from Japan!

For your list, we have a player named Jumbo Wang in our league.

The only problem with that idea is that eventually the random name generator will come up with Jesus Cobb. Nobody wants to see that.
