BH and Pass for PF/C - how low can you go Topic

How much do you care about BH in recruiting a center? Ideally he's not putting it on the floor - is it safe to go as low as 1 if his core values are high enough? How about PF, who in theory do some BH posting up? I don't want turnover machines in the post, but I can't see giving up 10 pts in LP/REB/etc to go for a guy that has 15 BH instead of 1. Is this a fair assessment?

Passing: I'm under the assumption that, relative to BH, passing is far more important than BH (though much less than cores), but is the difference between a PF/C with 30 passing and one with 10 passing worth sacrificing 5 points off cores? 10 points?

***BONUS EXTRA QUESTION!***
Regarding offense/defense IQs, is the difference between A and A- equal to the difference between C and C-? i.e. is it worth those practice minutes to get a group of seniors to full A (or A- from B+) instead of say, learning another O or D up to C or so for special situations? Say, switching to press if losing late, etc?

Thanks for any advice.

I'm a firm believer in high PA for PF/Cs. I mean 40-50 in D1. Drastically reduces turnovers. Probably a flaw in this engine (the old one) maybe it'll be different in the new one.

I don't think BH matters much for bigs in the old engine.

I think you can goto BH =1 for a center with minimal adverse affects in any division.

BH = 1 for a PF is going to increase turnovers though at all levels.

you can easily get by with no bh or passing in any of your bigs all the way up to high d1. is 20 passing worth sacrificing 5 or 10 points off cores? well, maybe it depends how loosely you define cores, but in a word, no.

i don't think the difference between an A and A- is the same as the difference between a C and C-. i would never want to play a C anything over an a-/b+ anything, at least not 99% of the time, so i think you either have to go big or not at all - either go for 2 hard enough to matter or don't waste you time and stick to one.

Yeah, you're right. Probably getting too fancy for my own good. In fact, my I just finished a team in Tark where I wanted to transition from zone to FCP - practiced the press exclusively almost from day one. Even by the end of the season, games where I played the old A-/B zone went much better than games where I played B-/C+ press, even against scrub teams.
