With gridiron dynasty some users offer excel spreadsheets to help with recruiting (maddiesdad, Guess). Is there anything like this for Hoops dynasty?

Ya with a new engine release no one even the beta testers know for sure what makes a good player yet fully.

Best thing to do is look at your team and then the top teams in your conference with the same offense/defense and see what categories they are high in.

Personally in HD though I don't think anyone has a full answer with recruiting because of all the FSS is out there.

I'm new, gonna try out the new engine. How do you get to the recruit ratings? I can see one at a time or a few more when I compare. Is there a better way to see a lot of them at once?
Thanks.

Cp49, click on the Recruiting tab and in the drop down box select Search. You will see a lot of boxes to set your search criteria and when you select Search from that page you will see a long list of players that meet the requirements you identified.

I see that and can see 50 at a time but no ratings, only locations and an overall rating. Is there a way I can set it to show me the ratings for each skill on a summary screen like that? I know I can see each player individually but I figure they have to have a way to show a lot of ratings on one screen.
Thank you.

Look on the right side of the page and find Results View. Change it from General to Ratings.

I have a spreadsheet but it is written in openoffice.org version 3.x and has openoffice type macros. It will not really function in MS Excel because of the different way excel handles external links and macros. The way the different spreadsheets use regex/pattern searches also cause issues. Basically it would be worthless unless you use openoffice.

My recruiting sheet is based on the RMT 2.0 sheet for Gridiron Dynasty and my team sheet is home grown, but both are pretty much OpenOffice only.

For people who use OpenOffice.org spreadsheet app (named Calc), I would be happy to send you a copy of my recruiting sheet and team sheet. Just sitemail me.

I created a spreadsheet that can import all of the recruits into the worksheet. I'm not sure how useful it is, but it is kind of nice to be able to sort and filter a little more easily than the webpage. The only problem is that it takes about 15-20 minutes to download all of the recruit information.

i spent a decent amount of time on a recruiting program that would import recruits, a page at a time, and sort them by arbitrary complex ranking formulas (and i got extremely detailed in those forumlas). it worked with potential, but in the potential era, with sort by ratings, it just isn't worth it. i don't even use it anymore. i'm glad i did it, because really getting into the formulas to rank players was an excellent exercise in formalizing the nuances of what makes a player great. but other than that, it was basically a waste, ratings view is just so useful...
