A- Loyalty not good enough? Topic

I've never seen this before, but was given the "loyalty not good enough" reasoning for a job that was a "step backwards" for me. Anyone see this before?

Certainly, especially for a higher level school. They will only be looking for A's, maybe even A+'s. Not sure if it was Tark or Iba you were looking, but with only one season at IPFW and two at UTEP, you are definately going to raise loyalty flags for better schools.

The school was BYU, which is currently a lower prestige than my IPFW team. Why would it be a "step backward" if I wasn't truly qualified for the job? I understand the normal prestige of the school is higher, but each individual's listings of job opportunities should include your loyalty.

CS gave me a generalized answer of loyalty not being included in the qualifications for a job. Guess that answers my question.

I did ask if they are going to include loyalty into the qualifications at a later date. Waiting to hear back on that.

I was told that this was something they were "going to correct in the future."

For the record, BYU's baseline is a C and IPFW's is a D. Baseline is what you should be concerned about. In many cases current prestige has no bearing, you need to at least meet the baseline requirement.

Also, loyalty IS a qualification, don't know what they are telling you on that note. It doesn't rate high in lateral moves, but it does in upward mobility. I've rarely seen a coach move up a tier without putting in 3-4 seasons at a lower one.
