Division/prestige to player ratings Topic

I've hit most of the forums, and I don't remember seeing the following:

a chart or table or something that takes your division and school prestige and gives you a general range of the quality of recruit you should be going for.

I realize that many 450 players are better than 500, but this chart would be helpful to new players.
I'm spending a lot of time and some money trying to pinpoint who I should be targettinf with my div ii c- team.

Trial and error is of course a part of the learning process, but just a thought. Could give some guidelines.

If this does in fact exist, could someone link it for me?
Thanks.

First off you should have a shot with any players that show up on your D2 search screen, Sometimes they can be "potentially" better players than you see on your D1 search.

If you're targeting players on your D1 search my suggestion is waiting until recruiting starts and see which recruits the D1 sims are targeting. There's generally a block of 30 or so. But it varies greatly from season to season and position to position.

For example maybe the sims have targeted all PG ranked between 130-160. Generally that leaves PGs ranked below 160th as the best players the top A+ D2 teams have a good shot with. Maybe an A can only get the 165th and an A- can only go as high as 170th.

With that C- prestige you probably don't have a decent shot of any of the top "ranked" remaining players unless they live within 60-70 miles. These top local players are often willing to listen to a C-.

You almost need to send out a call and wait for the response. If you're a backup option they may eventually drop to you. Or they may be tempted to be "pulled" down earlier than they would normally drop with enough recruiting effort. If the response says you have no shot it's best to move on to another player. If #180 says no way, chances are #179 and above won't listen either.

Also, if they don't return your call at all, that's a 'no'

Sorry Al but I think that may only happen to you. They always return my calls :)

Call the coach, he'll ALWAYS return your call and will also let you know if you're a back-up or have no chance.
