Player in questionIt's a D3 team so the athleticism and speed are a bit above average compared to most of the post players he faces. But not a huge margin and there are a number of players where he's at a disadvantage.
I (reluctantly) signed him as a role player and figured with the 26 low post rating that he'd never shoot. Right now he has the lowest distribution on my team.
But he does have a free throw rating of A and with the new engine he's getting to the line. He takes less than 2 shots a game but almost takes 3 free throws.
He's actually making shots too (48%), although I chalk that up to 50% small sample and 50% super-easy shots given the low distribution.
If I were to crank up the distribution I'm sure that the field goal percentage were to drop. But given the rate at which he is getting to the line, would it make sense to crank it up anyway? If he gets to the line he should be around 85%.
I never once thought I'd say that Jerrell Thompson is an offensive threat but until the engine cuts back on the rate of free throws should I begin to consider him as one?
