Hoops Dynasty Conference Re-alignment? Topic

This may have been answered elsewhere, but I can't seem to find it in the threads talking about conference re-alignment, so I'll ask it here. If, as expected, there are major re-alignments in the various conferences, can we expect to see those alignments take place in the game as well?

Just curious...I'm sure it would have a significant impact on some in-game teams.

Don't hold your breath. WIS is pretty locked into the 12 team conference format and there are many alignments that already do not match real life.

WiS wouldn't even switch the names of the divisions in the Patriot League (look at 'em, they're exactly backwards) for me because "people are used to seeing their team on one part of the screen." So we'll see.

But either way, I'd wait to see what happens in big life. It would be weird to have a BCS conference in WiS - the Big 12 - that just doesn't exist in real life.

Pac-10 just picked up Colorado to make 11. Another team would make 12. Might as well re-align that conference.

Even though commitments are being made now, there wont actually be any moves for at least a year, maybe two. I would imagine that WIS will eventually follow suit, it will just take time. just my take

yeah we have to wait and see how real life turns out before anything can be considered in WIS world.

I say leave the worlds and conferences as they are, but if they ever make new worlds, then make the necessary adjustments to account for the conferences, etc. Conference shifts in concrete worlds are probably more trouble than they're worth anyhow.

Hopefully, they'll never make any new worlds.

Problem is is they get 12 it means they'll be at 16, no chance only 1 more team goes, it'll be pretty much either all 5 of the teams that have offers on the table go or none of them go.

They will go for 12 for sure, but they do want 16. If they get 16 they want 2 Auto bids and no championship game whereas if they only get 12 there is no shot at that happening. SEC is talking to Oklahoma st and Oklahoma right now and big 10 is talking to texas. If any of them sign somewhere else then I see the pac 10 going to just 12 teams. I don't think they would get Boise, Utah, BYU and such and I just don't see 5 of those teams being worth going up to the pac 10 whereas someone could potentially justify taking just one of those teams to form a 12th member

I dont see the Big 12 being a conference except with maybe a couple over teams and then pulling other mid-major teams into their conference like Gonzaga, Boise State, Northern Iowa, and such makes sense to cover the sports bases.

Personally I say they should redo all of D1 to mirror real life. It would make it more exciting when you start getting power conference on here that have 16 teams in them as well as having small 8 team crappy conferences.

These changes (at least for football) do not take place until 2012.

On a side note, that could have an interesting effect on the basketball tournament. If you have less conferences?

I think WIS will look to explore making some changes at some point, but as was mentioned before, it would be in a few years.
