Has anyone used, or seen anyone use, this strategy - successfully or unsuccessfully - since the engine changeover? Just curious.

Bing ball is a known term around here. Using two players for pretty much 100% of your distro.

I don't think it works too well anymore, have a look at yanks250125, I think he still tries to do it with all of his teams.

You have to set it updifferently, but prior ro rhw 6.10.10 update i was ok.

my recollection was that there is some sort of efficiency penalty if a player is 50+% of the offense. not sure if that is shots taken or what. i havent documented anything, but i have tried pushing that envelope occasionally. what i can recall is that when a guy goes off for 25ish points in first half, he may get to mid 30s or even 40, but then it seems like last 10 minutes of game (ish) he goes stone cold like 0 for 10 ish. i dont think ive been able to get anyone past 42ish.

ill bump my thread about all time scorers and my kid currently at PBAU-iba who averaged 25 ppg as a rs frosh. was hoping for 30 ppg as a soph, but looks like he wont even get back to 25 again. still, i expect him to become the all time iba d3 scorer at a little over 3,000. the all time all world d3 mark is over 4,000, thats out of his reach unless i figure a way to get him 35 ppg as jr and senior.

my trick for next year is to schedule mostly sims who play fastbreak zone. i know, its pointless and shameless , but i gotta entertain myself somehow.

original bingball was 2 players get 100% of distro, but i think there were many times they werent on the court together (maybe one didnt even start?) if you had two players that were on the court together most of the time, i think that could potentially work ok.

from 2010

With this new release are you trying to get rid of 'bing ball', where just 1 or 2 players score all the points for a team?(ryanderson - Hall of Famer - 12:31 PM)

I don't think that's a realistic strategy in most cases, so it probably won't be as successful in the new engine.

Seble, love the changes. Big problem/question is you said it will hurt guys to get an unrealistic amount of shots. One of the current problems in the game is that you can't have stars. Guys who score 20. Shouldn't the change go the other way so it's easier to have a standout "star"? (majresorter - Hall of Famer - 12:35 PM)

I'm definitely not looking to penalize high scorers in general. There will be a reduction in offensive efficiency for a player who has taken more than 50% of the shots of the players on the floor at that time. The idea is that the defense would begin to really focus on that player if it becomes obvious that he's going to chuck up the majority of the shots. If you think about it though, a player would probably have to be shooting 30-40 times a game for this to significantly impact them.
