Yeah, that's fustrating, but the guy shot 31 3-pt shots in two games.  Sometimes guys go cold.  It's not like your guy is a lights-out shooter, either.  He's ok, probably good at D3, but not good enough to be shooting that many.  Plus, while he's pretty athletic, he's not very fast, and probably doesn't have the easiest time getting off a shot, even with the good BH.

If I was you, I'd be happy that he's made as many threes as he has and dial it back a bit.  I've had guys who should have been a lot better than your guy shoot the same percentage at (0) or even (-1).

So while it is extremely frustrating, especially against the (-5), I think you should at least acknowledge that you're setting the guy up to fail, at least in games when the shooting RNG isn't going your way.

This guy went 5-17 against This guy then proceeded to go 3-22 against This guy.
5-17 is not a bad 3 point performance.  That is 30%.  3/22 is worse, sure.  But, who shoots 22 3's in a game.  When you are taking that many shots with the new engine, the rest of the team starts shutting you down too (with the new engine).

It is frustrating, but I didn't do everything right.  Playing him at +1 probably isn't a good idea (I just changed it).  But those guys are AWFUL defenders.  A guy who is a good scorer at d3 should light those guys up.  Especially against a -5.

Definitely.  The Augustana game was the really bad one.  Man-to-man (-5), ath/spd advantage, below average def rating, and the defender played 33 minutes.  That one would have ****** me off.  Setting him to +1 probably didn't help, but you'd still expect him to have a pretty big advantage.  The other game was just one of those things, in my opinion.

BTW, I was not saying he shouldn't have hit more shots than 3/22 ... but remember that there is the built in disadvantage when one player is taking most of the shots.

Yeah, the first game doesn't seem terrible - the defender had low DE but was much faster.  I would suspect too that he is getting hit for taking too high a percentage of your shots as well.

5/17 from beyond the arc is the equivalent of 44.1% from inside

Kobe went 6-24 in Game 7. What's your point?

Kobe was going up against Ray Allen and Tony Allen, not Adam Morrison.

Kobe's ath/spd would be way higher than ray allen or tony allen though.

Great players have plenty of bad shooting games, especially when they shoot too much. And since when is over-the-hill Ray Allen considered an elite defender?

The biggest question is why are you insisting on having this guy jack up 20 shots a game when he's only shooting 37% in 20 games.

You might also want to take a look at your team's passing skills, which are mediocre at best and is probably affecting you No. 1 shooter's ability to get good looks. You have no big men with a passing rating above 21, and you're running a triangle which requires good passers in the post to be most effective.

Also, Kobe choked.
