HCA Changes in New Engine Topic

It is still too early in Wooden to tell, but what is the general consensus on changes to HCA? Has HCA gotten stronger or weaker in the new engine?

stronger

Definitely stronger.  I had a greater than 50 pt swing between the home and away in a BCS conference in Knight this season.

Sorry, that was for one home-and-away series.

They toned this down on the 6/16 update.  Did 1 or both of those games happen after 6/16?

My biggest complaint was the HCA in DI was too extreme when it got to the "A" level. I guess game planning is less relevant in the new engine, which is unfortunate. Just get a good HCA and put it on cruise control.

Both after 3/16.  I won by 10 at home on 6/17, he won by 45 at his place on 6/20.

My team is in D3 in a conference with pretty much D and D+ HCAs.  My average home-away point swing against my divisional opponents was 21 points, all games after the 16th.  If you take out the bottom feeding sim team that I actually beat by more on the road, my average point swing against the 4 other human-coached teams was 29.25 points per game.  That is ridiculous.  In the past HCA in D3 was virtually worthless.  I understand that this is not accurate - in reality even D3 schools perform at least a bit better at home, and some HCA is necessary to make the RPI calculation meaningful.  This definitely seems like too much, though.

HCA was stronger for half a season, but after the last update, HCA seemed to be virtually nonexistent, at least in the Knight BEast.

I'm assuming it was the classic WIS overcorrection, and we can expect another change in the near future.

My numbers for for Knight D3...  It would certainly be quite odd and definitely not right for D3 to have a bigger HCA than D1 power conferences...  On the other hand, both of our samples are fairly small and the truth may be somewhere in between.
