The sdb progressive league needs an owner for 1984.


Started in the 1962 season this long running progressive originaly was known as the Nuke LaLoosh memorial league. It was later renamed the sdb League in honor of Stephen Brown, late WIS user brunigh.

Advances 1 season at a time with a worst to first draft.

Lottery for the 1st two picks includes the bottom 4 teams.

Wins floor is 40 by game 162 to be in the lottery.

Failure to make the wins floor means you drop to pick #5.

1200 IP minimum that must be maintained throughout the season. Failure to have 1200 results in a drop in the draft and you can not be in the lottery. Max penalty is a drop of 5 spots.

1150-1199 drop 1 spot

1100-1149 drop 2 spots ect.

DH in the AL only.

AAA draft done like the normal draft.

Draft picks may be traded up to 1 year in advance.

No restrictions on team names

Players must be rated at a position to start there. Since the owner has no control over who sparky subs there is no penalty unless you start a player out of position.

Penalty: None if when notified an owner stops doing it. If it continues all games where the violation occurs count as a loss for playoff position and as a win for draft position.

minimum 1200 IP after the draft and during the season

Penalty: 1 draft spot per 50 IP and you are disqualified from the lottery meaning you can draft no higher than 4th. Maximum penalty is 5 spots.

1150-1199 IP 1 spot penalty 1100-1149 2 spot penalty ect.

Trades can be made for draft picks no more than 1 season ahead.

No penalty you just can't do it so the trade would be voided.

Wins Floor and Lottery

The wins floor is 40 wins by the end of the season. failure to make the wins floor keeps you out of the lottery and you will draft no higher than 5th.

Draft position is determined at game #120.

The 4 teams with the worst record and that make the wins floor at seasons end are placed in a lottery for the top 2 picks.

Might help you out but I am new to the progresssive type league. Where did the roster come from? Prior years drafts? Is it a keeper league? just a few more details on the rosters if you dont mind 

yes, roster is from '82 squad, still pending 4 more picks in '83 draft, which runs like normal drafts in the league forum. We started in 1962 and are getting ready for 1983, which will be season 22. You enter keepers/cuts after game 120 when draft order is set each season and then we have a normal and then AAA draft once the season is over, progressing through the years.

Your players progress. The 1982 players you now must use the 1983 version and if you keep them you have to use the 1984 version?

unless you drop them or they retire, we also have IR if the player misses the season, so you can hold on to them. You can only keep 25 players, plus you have a couple AAA guys (who aren't keepers from year to year) each season. So if you keep everybody on your roster you don't draft, not that anyone ever does that. You would get AAA guys if you want, tho. We use real life players (leftovers after the regular draft) for AAA.

Ok one last question, what are the details with the draft? is there a forum? How long between picks?

the sdb has its own forum, we're in round 2 right now and there's 2 hours between picks, actually, the Scouts are up right now
