question about prestige in regards to recruiting Topic

I see posted in the forums frequently high b prestige, low b prestige, etc.  Remember back to lostmyth's thread he said that in his opinion it was large difference in recruiting effort needed from 1 letter grade (ie a- to b-)

Is it possible that there are 2 schools that are different in prestige (ie A vs A-) but are so close they just happen to fall straddling the line that recruiting wise there is very negligible recruit effort needed to overcome?

Sure. Let's say the cut-off between A and A- is a 93 and isn't rounded up, you could theoretically have one team at 92.9 and the other at 93.1. Of course, there's no way to no if 1/3 of a grade is really closer to 2/3, or really closer to being even.

Yes, it is possible.  There are also differences within the ratings.   I compared notes with another DII coach (we're both A+ prestige) and  I could see a few players more on my DII page.  I'm sure they dropped to him early on.
