How does Eligibilty Class work? Topic

Is it that you can sign a max of 6 players per Eligibility Class in one recruriting season or is it you can have a max of 6 players per Eligibility class on your roster?

And, also, can you still recruit a player who you can't sign (because signing such a player would exceed the EC limit)?

You can only have 6 players per class, but if you have 10 open scholarships then you can recruit 6 freshman and 4 JUCOs/transfers for example or any combination of the three types of recruits.

And you can recruit a player who you can't, but that would be a waste of cash because the more recruiting money that you save, the more cash that carries over into your next season's budget.

Thanks, I have a follow up question.

There is a JUCO player that I want to recruit next season, but unfortunately he has 3 years of eligibility and I already have 6 (expected to return) sophomores who will also have 3 years of eligibility.  Can I redshirt one of the 6 sophomores, prior to or during recruiting, so that I can sign this JUCO player, or is my only option to cut one of the 6 players?

Even if redshirted he'll still be a redshirt sophomore, which counts against your limit of 6.
