I'm sure it's been mentioned many times before, but I still think it's incredibly stupid that I sweep a first round opponent and get zero rest for my players, simply because the guy across the bracket from me swept his opponent too, whereas someone who pulls off the sweep and is opposite an opponent who took 5 games to win gets rest for his players.

seems to me pretty realistic. Maybe a day or two off would be cool.

How is it realistic if two teams who finish a series in the same amount of games, and get the same number of days off before their next series, get differing degrees of rest for their players?
7/15/2010 3:51 PM
There ain't anything realistic about a 32 team tournament. The fatigue system is what it is. Sometimes you benefit from it. Sometimes you get screwed. At the end of the day you're still a sissy momma's boy from Canadia. Peace.

I hope Canada gets back into baseball. Hope the Jays start winning in the east.

I think fatigue is a bit overrated in the TOC. I beat a team that was a legit team with a top 10 owner in SLB and my team with not a single 100 player exept a few relievers, was able to win a series in 6 or 7 games. I had to screw with my rotation a ton due to a 2a 2b set up and there was alot of mirco managing the fatigue but still. Everyone was like (78)-(94)% through out the lineup and Bob Caruthers was the only pitcher to be 100% every time he took the hill. I remember the few series that i got rest on helped but i mean it was possible to win with that fatigued of a team.

I've never been to a TOC or playoffs but I can imagine that managing fatigue is alot of fun.

I kind of like that the TOC is so harsh fatigue-wise... It seems to benefit more balnced team and punish split squads.
7/16/2010 9:39 PM
Fatigue? We don't need no stinkin' fatigue!
7/19/2010 11:23 PM
Seriously though, I like the current setting of fatigue in the TOC..

I'm not saying the fatigue settings are bad, in terms of how players tire, but if Teams A, B and C win their opening series in 3 games and Team D wins in 5, then teams A and B get no rest since they're meeting each other and played the same number of games, but Team C will get two days of rest since their next opponent is still playing.  That is in no way fair.
7/20/2010 12:35 AM
So your alternative is?
7/20/2010 2:32 AM
Seems pretty straightforward...if your team wins your TOC series in X games fewer than the maximum, then your players benefit from X days of fatigue recovery.  This should be completely independent of what your next opponent has done.

I completely agree with Jtpsops on this; the current system has never made sense to me.

Then we'll have people complaining that '95 Maddux made 10 starts in 20 games. I would welcome this change too as it would benefit me more than most, but it does create a bigger problem than it solves. If you don't draft very top heavy pitching and 4000 or fewer quality PAs, then you're screwed, and our Candian friend would win less, not more, games. Booger would win more!

Don't see how it does that at all.

This is not about changing the fatigue model.  This is about changing the fact that the fatigue model applies differently based on how many games your opponent took to win his last series.  Which makes no sense whatsoever.
