Cool idea. I would want to make 2 different sets to choose from. One would be what you call Scout, Recruiter, Sleaze, and Planner (I think the planner should give a suggestion on any changes to be made. The system could look at matchups and tell you that your Center can't play against theres but your SG should tear it up, change distro accordingly). You could choose one of these.
The second would expand on the fundamentals. Like allowing one shooting(PE), rebounding, aerobycs(Ath), fitness(st), motivational(WE), big man(LP), or guard(bh/pass). These coaches would have a total number of minutes they can work with players and can be assigned. No sense wasting time teach your Center how to break someones ankles. Well that would be pretty cool to see a 7 footer shake and bake into the lane;). Your allowed one of these as well
To me teaching the offense and defense lays pretty heavily on the head coach and i don't think this should be implemented as an assistant setting. Two coaches is enough for me at all levels. The DI assistants will make a bigger impact than DII and DIII since you don't want to have it meaningless at DI or make an entire team at DIII
I like how this could be changed around to fit a coaches needs. A team with a lot of open scholarships would go for a Scout, while a team with 1 would go for a recruiter, and the USC team can get a sleaze. I'm joking there, a Sleaze will be used for teams who are reaching for players they normally wouldnt get. This could make a Mid-major a contender in the tourny and create a Butler like run (not to say they did anything against regulation).
