Redshirt Senior? Topic

I am thinking about redshirting a senior PF on my team.  My front line is loaded and I could really use him next season when two of my bigs graduate.  His WE is 73 and I know it will drop but my theory is that he is very close to maxing out on his potential anyway.  Does anyone have some experience at redshirting a senior?

Will he even stay? He might end up just graduating cause of his gap and what not, also he could transfer because he is a senior and got redshirted.

Players won't transfer because they are redshirted unless you promised them PT.

So redshirting takes out the not playing enough formula? Cause I had juniors transfer because they were not playing enough.

They won't complain if they don't play. You could take a player off the depth chart and if he doesn't enter any games he won't complain for his class minutes wanted or even if he was promised minutes. I use to redshirt players I promised starts to until the end of the season so I didn't have to live up to it.

They fixed this a few months ago, you can't do that anymore.

Redshirt the guy. Even if his work ethic drops to 1 he hes probably done growing anyway... Theres a really good chance he will stay and if he doesnt so what your in the same situation you would have been in if you didnt redshirt him.

I've done it once; had a metric shitload of big men on a team, most of them seniors, wanted to keep one around to anchor the line for the new freshmen the next season. He was ******, but of course he stayed. He was already getting 40 minutes each in conditioning and rebounding, the rest in study hall, so I didn't really care about the WE drop...
