I traded a player, in order to prepare my roster for the rule 5 i played him on DFA to free up a 40 man spot.

Then the owner i traded with signed over his cap and left me high and dry with a nullified trade.

This player then cleared waivers (twice) and i CANNOT assign him to AAA, ML OR ANYTHING. I'm just stuck with him sitting there on DFA. I want him to play for me. What the hell??

What happens when you try to assign him?

If it's Rico Martinez, he has 6 years in ML. He could be refusing a Minor League assignment.

"Once a player has 6 years of big league experience, options are meaningless because he can opt for free-agency rather than accept a trip to the minors."

Which means your only option will be to release him and eat his contract.

One of the risks of DFA.  Lesson learned, hopefully.

BTW . . . did you trade him, and then DFA him?  Wouldn't that have nullified the trade?

The thing is I don't want to send him tot he minors. I WANT HIM ON MY ML ROSTER.

When i goto assign, the box is just empty! Nothing there.

Yes, I traded him then DFA knowing he was leaving. Then the other coach went and signed some players to put himself over the cap. Thus the trade was nullified.

Rule 5 Roster Freeze.

That's what it sounds like to me.

Nope I've been trying for the entire day leading up to the rule 5. I couldn't get him back on the roster.

Of course now the rosters are locked (were as of earlier today) so I can't do anything. But all day yesterday I couldn't do a thing.

If there was no error message like "This player cannot be assigned because......", you need to send a ticket.    You should have had the option to attempt a move but, from your 11:43 PM post, there was no Assign box, no Release box, no Demote box, etc, etc.   So, in essence, you couldn't do any moves at all with ANY of your players.
