How do you develop a prospect's glove?

Play him at a position that requires a good glove. Don't stick him in left or right field, and yeah, having a good fielding coach helps.

Have him wipe neatsfoot oil on it, then play a lot of catch.

Seriously-- it's like any other skill rating (as opposed to a tool rating like range, speed, power) in that it develops during the season dependent on playing time and coaching.  The key coach for glove development throughout the system is your ML fielding coach; but the fielding rating of your bench coach at the appropriate level may have some role.  It has been said by sitestaff that the position you play the guy at matters, but I'm not sure I believe that, would welcome others' views.

Yea, I learned through a few mentors that to develop a stud SS's glove, play him in CF.  I would assume that expanding that ideaology to other players would yield equal results.

Do you have that backwards?  I would play a stud CF in SS to try to maximize his growth, but I would think you would want a stud SS playing SS to maximize his growth.  Its all about the chances that he gets and he will get the most chances at SS
