I recently took over Southern Utah in Knight. The team runs FB/M2M. I'm not sure that FB can still win unless you are a guru coach (and I've never run a FB team before...)
Given my roster, I'm thinking of the following lineup:

PG: Gray / Rice / Peterson / Laursen

SG: Cameron / Rice / Peterson / Laursen

SF: Wilson / Rice / Peterson / Tejada

PF: Peterson / Bolding / Andrews / Yates

C:  Richart / Yates / Andrews / Bolding

Basically 3 guards and a SF playing at the 4. I'm thinking it would help give me a speed advantage at some positions, and more guards can't hurt a running team. Of course I am worried about rebounds, but my more traditional lineup isn't really gangbusters at rebounding either, so I'm thinking the potential drop off over my best case rebounding scenario might be lower than any gains from running this set...

Chances this works?

Not sure at all about D-1, but I had success running FB small ball at D-II, using 3 guards and a good ATH/rebounding SF at the PF spot.  Again, that was old engine though, so who knows.  SPD def. doesn't hurt across the board with FB.

anyone at DI ever run like this (and would that mean anything given the changes in the engine?) I'd love to hear more thoughts?

I ran a PG-SG-SG-SF-C system at Oklahoma State in Knight this past season after a dreadful recruiting period. We went 12-15, and in the Big 12 after that kind of a horrid recruiting effort, I'll take it.

Real transition year, this coming back, how woudl you play it?  Transitioning from a Fast break/Press to a Motion/press, motion/man, or motion/(Man/press)  Any opinions on which would work best?  Unless someone has an argument for continuing with playing fastbreak.
