A Prestige Q Thread Topic

I thought I'd never start this thread, but I'm kind of confused about why I dropped from an A+ to an A prestige in Wooden.

I have a D2 team. I thought it was supposed to take into account the past two years and the past four years, in which case BOTH of those criteria improved. Additionally, I made the S16-- I figured that if you have an A+ prestige and you keep making the S16 it'll stay there forever, even without any further advancement. Also, I've won 20 games in all 4 of these seasons and never had more than 3 conference losses.

Here are my past seasons, what am I missing?

The most recent season weights the most heavily - of course you'd be at an A+ after making the championship game, but the assumption that a Sweet Sixteen could always hold you steady is a misguided one.  You had the A+ on the strength of your 32-win runner-up season, and with that fading away in the fans' minds, the resume has only one Elite Eight in four seasons, which is great, but not the very best, which is what an A+ should be.

Just my thoughts.  The difference between an A+ and an A has gotta be pretty small, anyway.

You should be an A+, but the reason you are not is you just made a weak sweet 16. I say that because you had 11 losses and a 34 rpi, which definitely hurt you.

fair enough, i obviously played a very tough schedule and lost a few seniors after making the title game. it seems like wins or conference wins or whatever are weighted too heavily and we should be taught only to play as tough of a schedule as possible.

Im not an expert but is is a possibilty there is a max for the amount of A+ prestige teams in a world like if say there are 8 other teams better with the best prestige available does it make others drop down in order of next best?

That's just not true.

Record, Ranking, and RPI all play a pretty big impact on prestige and thats probably why you dropped to an A.

No. Also there is no ceiling on prestige, so you could be a 97 and be an A+ or be a 110 and be an A+.

does the system recognize prestige as a non-whole letter? so if i win back to back championships can i be at like a super-A+ enabling more recruits to be available to me sooner than an A+ who has just been to two straight S16s?

also, it's retarded that ranking matters in prestige. it's really stupid that just about anything matters except RPI. it's so easy to get stuff like overall Ws and conference Ws, shouldn't we be encouraged to schedule difficultly?

I was offering this as a question cause I really have no idea but think that it wouldnt be a bad idea to have one true top A+ team based on the formula and everyone falls in line after this.  thoughts

Yes - prestige is actually a numeric score and depending on where in the WIS scale it falls determines the letter grade displayed.  So (for example) schools could have prestige scores of 120, 113, 105 and 99, and all be displaying as A+ prestige.
