I was wondering about the timing of waiving - I have waived several players that I want to remove from my 40 man team this morning (August 2nd).  The Rule 5 Roster Freeze is Aug 4th AM.  Will there be time in between when those players clear waivers and the freeze for me to remove from the 40 man?  (IE - the rules say 'shortly after midnight on the second day, the waiver process occurs'.  Does it REALLY happen shortly after midnight, so there should be a couple hours between that and the AM cycle on the 4th?)

If you want to remove them immediately from the 40, you could have DFA'd them with waivers.  If you've already waived them, it may be too late for that.

I just ran into the same problem, but luckily it was NOT too late.  Apparently, as long as the waiver status is still pending, you can DFA the guys you waived and have them immediately removed from the 40 Man.  At the bottom of the screen, where you confirm your moves, it will list each guy twice, once stating "Designated for Assignment", and once stating something to the effect of "Placed on Waivers - Another roster move has effected a previous roster move. Please delete one of the moves."

From there, you can click "Undo" on the Waiver moves, and then confirm the DFA, and all should be good.
