Here are three catchers I could potentially have on my ML roster this season....

Butler and Knight platooned for me at the end of last season....for what Butler lacks hitting, he seems to overperform in his defense---he throws out a good % of SBAs ........Knight's PC is his strength along with the occassional bomb he hits.....Roth's got a significantly better bat than both, but his PC is much lower than both.......I'm struggling with whether to keep him and hope that his bat makes up for his deficiencies behind the plate or attempt to trade him to an AL team where he may have some value as a DH......BTW I'm in a neutral park if that matters.

If I put Roth on ML roster I'd probably get rid of knight.....

Any help/advice is appreciated.

You linked Roth three different times.

Butler

Knight

Roth

None of these guys are particularly good catchers.  Butler's arm accuracy is below average.  Knight's arm strength is below average.  And Roth's PC is horrendous.

Personally, I wouldn't use Roth behind the plate with that PC.  He'd be a DH.  And with his hitting ratings, he'd be an OK but not an outstanding DH.  Not sure how much interest he would draw from an AL team as trade bait because good hit, no field DH players are usually abundant.

I'd continue to go with your platoon of Butler as your primary catcher (vs RHP) and Knight as your secondary catcher (vs LHP and as a defensive replacement).  Try to trade Roth for some value, or just keep him as a third catcher/pinch hitter.
