Many international players opt to come to play NCAA ball then go to the NBA - they say it can be a faster option to the NBA than the various international leagues. That's what Enes Kanter is doing - he is the highest ranked incoming freshman for Kentucky this fall

that list is outdated, find 1 for this year

edit: its also missing lots of canadians from that year, so find something thats right too

Regardning your first point - did all intls leave college basketball last season?  The list is fairly recent and demonstrates that there are lots of international players from beyond Canada.

It also makes people wonder why our options in internationals are so limited?  Only SE Asian, approx. 5 European countries, approx. 5 African countries, Canada, Mexico (and we had to fight for a long time to get recruits from south of the border).  Why aren't there Australians?  South Americans?  Western Europeans from somewhere other than Spain or Italy?  They could definitely branch out more.

other than non-North Americans, why does it matter? I think it's only cosmetic once you get beyond the mileage differences...

certainly internationals are still around, canada has just doubled (or more) it's d1 commitments in each of the last couple recruiting years, my original thoughts weren't based on 2005
