I no SIM AI does recruiting just before first cycle. Say they get 4 considerations. Then those 4 are sought after by coaches. will the engine allow them to lose all recruits and run 4 walkons? Going into my schedule i actually see no player below 390 on a SIM AI team. This could be an important piece of information. If the engine will say guarentee 10 spots to recruits to SIM AI, you could then look at who is going after the other guys and if they have a high prestige, they are likely to be taken away making your recruit stay.

Just wondering if this has been experienced by anyone

No - once SimAI puts their money into those 4 initial targets they are done spending on them.  If humans raid them for all 4 prospects, they lose all 4 of those prospects.  SimAI does reserve some money and starts recruiting again on the morning after signings (not 100% sure of the exact timing) and starts spending on addition targets who are undecided at that point.

No, I have never seen them put more money back into a player who started considering them initially.

They post-signing targets are always players who are undecided at that point.
