found a guy with 1 durability...

other than that his cores are decent for my vision. he has the kind of potential I look for in recruits.

the question is... would he ever be health enough to grow and become successful?

I don't think durability is as much an  indication of how likely somebody is to get hurt as it is a determination of how seriously they get hurt when they do get injured.

That was certainly true for the old engine ... but here is one of the bullets for the May 12 Engine:

   * Better and less random injury logic. The Durability rating will be the driving force for both odds of injury and recovery rate.

I am not sure how much impact that is ... but DUR is now supposed to play a factor in both getting injured and recovery rate.

there were a few changes while we were in the beta test.

Initially the severity of injury was increased with a lower DUR and the the speed of recovery was based on DUR/WE.  Serious injuries popped up quite more frequently in the beta world if compared against the old engine.  I had a guy twist his ankle and it was 16 games before he was back to an 80 health.

Several of us were concerned that since injuries are basically random, a team full of players with 10 DUR may not have anyone injured yet a team full of guys with 90 and a star at 20 may have a single injury that could destroy the season.  And with that single random injury to a key player a 4-year coaching resume may not be able to recover for a couple seasons.

What I understood the change seble was making was an attempt to modify the injuries in the new engine or to have them treated similiarily to the injuries in the old engine.  A twisted ankle to a 90 DUR make drop the health to 95 and might not be viewed as an injury at all.  But the twisted ankle to a player with a 10 DUR might drop the health to 50 and cause a few games to be missed.

Has anyone noticed a difference in the recovery rate between the old engine andf the new one?   The players improved about 6 points a day in the old engine.  The one player I've had injured in the new engine improved at about the same rate.

My teams seem to be suffering fewer injuries. Just lucky, I guess.
