2-3 SF question Topic

My team plays a 2-3 zone and I have a lot of big guys.  I have 2 guys at PG, SG, and SF and 6 big guys.  I planned on only playing 4 of them, but I just had this idea of playing Travis Rowe at Small forward.  He has really low BH and what I consider minimal passing for a SF, but he has 100 rebounding which would make the rebounding abilities of my bottom 3 very very good.  I feel like he could really help me there rebounding wise, but is he just so bad on offense that he shouldn't be played there?

Don't you get a penalty for moving him 2 positions?

Nah, they scrapped position penalties.

Personally, I'd rather have Shankle's ATH in the starting lineup and one of those centers anchoring the second unit's rebounding, rather than all three starting. The fatigue changes mean you can't just keep trotting those C's out there all night.

Plus, you have a better chance of finding exploitable matchups on offense with Rowe's 40/40/40 at center rather than at SF.

Rowe would probably be the backup SF or if I started him he wouldn't play much because of the stamina.  This year I might not be playing Rowe because I feel like he's probably my 5th big guy this year.  I was considering redshirting him at the end of the year.

Oh, that's different then. Yeah, I could see slotting him in third on the depth chart at PF/C and second at SF ahead of Simmons, who doesn't bring much to the table.

Simmons will be a good SF in 2 years or so when he develops, but right now he's not going to do much.  Maybe against press teams I'd take Rowe out and put Simmons as the 2nd SF for the BH/P, but against better rebounding teams I would put in Rowe so he could help dominate the boards.  Would that be the right mentality for this kind of thing?

Sounds about what I'd do. Mind you, I haven't played DIII in a while... one of the lower division kings might spot something I'm missing.
