Just got through with a rather large (For me at least)recruiting class. . .and I was wondering if I could elicit any commentary on the players, full brutality allowed.  Not sure what to make of the class.

Anyway, also, here is what I have already.

I was a bit distracted during recruiting and this might be a bit of a mess this year. . . ..

its pretty much impossible to comment without knowing the potential of each player.. if you could put like an H or L after the rating to show the potential id give you some feedback

Shoot.  Sorry.  When I pasted it, it was still showing the reds and greens on the screen.  I'll have to edit them back in.

8/30/2010 6:43 PM
There.  Edited.  Each is color coded with the high=green, avg = black low - red.   A number of those highs are 'high high' or 'Dramatic' for Ferell and Poche

poche looks like a career backup, G/F type
randle is lacking in LP and ST, should be decent for d3 by his senior year though
i usually think Ath is the most important attribute for PFs, but otherwise Crocker looks serviceable
franklin could be a decent combo guard
not sure where sechrist is going to fit in, PE/BH/P is very low for a guard, but his high ATH/SPD combo makes him serviceable and potentially a good SF (despite low reb)
ferrell would be great...if not for the low ST.
8/30/2010 7:35 PM
Yeah.  I am hopeful though for Ferrell and randle.  Both show as "High high' in stamina on the scouting report I did for them.

8/30/2010 7:41 PM
i would hope. lol.

Like Randle and Ferrell's future.
Don't see Franklin or Sechrist as your PG of the future but both should be able to contribute somewhere. Their low P ratings really hurt.
Poche looks like he may fit better at SG for now.

My 2 cents:

Poche is interesting - Once his ATH / SPD improve a bit, he'll be a pretty well-rounded SF. His potential in PER should make him a good three-pt shooter, and his potential in BH / FT should make him a very good slasher / finisher.
Randle - it all depends on how high his LP goes. If it improves dramatically, you've got a good starter. If it doesn't get past 35 or so, he's a classic "first big man off the bench" - lots of reb and defense, but not much offense except on offensive rebs.
Crocker - I've never taken a big man with an ATH that low, and when you combine it with no DEF, he's going to be a matador on the defensive end. Plus, you're probably going to have to give him a lot of study hall mins to keep him eligible. Honestly, unless he shows some promise in his first year, I would consider rescinding him.
Franklin - depends on how high his SPD can go. If it gets to 70+, that's a nice SG. If it maxes out lower, he's a decent rotation guy.
Sechrist - I agree with jet. I can live with his low PER, but the BH / PASS are almost unusable for a guard. If his LP improves quickly, try him for a few mins a game at SF and see how he works out.
Ferrell - love him. He's got everything to be a star except the STA. Put a ton of mins into his conditioning right away - if / when his stamina gets above 65, he's going to be fantastic for you.

Poche is also listed as HUGE improvement for that Rebounding.(Ended up sending one scouting report at him)  The other advantage Ferell has is he already knows the o/D sets I was considering.

Ferrell will dominate D3 when he's on the court.  Crocker is worthless, though: he can't score, he can't defend, and he can't rebound.  You really needed to bring in some guards who could pass and didn't do that.  The overall lack of passing on the team may hurt in terms of turnovers.
8/30/2010 9:58 PM
Yes.  I couldn't find a good passer that would give me the time of day, unfortunately.

8/30/2010 10:01 PM
Wow Ferrell looks like a beast. 50/50 ath/spd with nice bigman stats. Guess this is the kind of player I should be looking for for my team.
8/30/2010 10:07 PM
yeah, Ferrell is going to ball out in DIII. I don't understand recruiting a PG with horrible P and BH though, to be honest.
8/30/2010 10:11 PM
Hoping the 76 WE is high enough that if I pump minutes into conditioning, it will get that STA up.  A question:  WOuld it be worth it to pump more than 20/25 minutes into conditioning (For Ferrell) just to get that stamina up, or woudl diminishing returns make it still more effective to spread those minutes around?
