Three-day Draft Topic

Know this has been brought up before, but ....  Now that we have 7 days to view draft picks, why not do 1st rnd incl supplemental on day 5, rnds 2-5 on day 6 & rnds 6-25 on day 7?  Or some other such combination.  Would it be that hard to allow owners to change rankings after supplental & after rnd 5?

This has been discussed a number of times in the forums.  Don't think it's gonna happen.

I was one of the first, if not the first, to ask for this.   After thinking about it for a couple of years, I'm not sure it's a "worthwhile" addition.  I don't know how many owners would actually make adjustments(I probably would just because I could).   And I don't know how effective it would be.   If you got the 1B basher you wanted in round 1, you might move the other 1B bashers down but you're not moving them below the good defensive CF who can't hit.

Rank more guys more times. I get tired ranking 10 guys and doing that a 2nd and 3rd time.. I could just not do it but it's there so I would.

Spreading the draft over two days might be useful, so that you could re-rank the guys you want in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. But as 98% of what's drafted after the third round will never make the majors, I don't see owners clamoring to rerank those potential draft picks.

If the quality of the drafts were higher, then that may change things.

I don't support the idea of a 3 day draft, but if I had to do it, I'd set it up as Day 1: First Round, Day 2: Supplemental Round and Second Round, Day 3: Rounds 3-25.

There's rarely anything of value left after the second round, save for a few guys available at the top of round 3, and those are usually low durability/stamina/health type players who slipped due to concerns with how often they can play.

The main reason why this will not happen is because it gives an unfair advantage to users who are able to be on their computer to modify their selections. Missing one of these extended rounds could be a crucial mistake.

So, sorry guys, we will not be extending the amount of time the draft takes.
