As we head towards Season 30, I find myself being pulled in many different directions both at work and in my personal life...ok who are we kidding, HD IS my personal life!!! But seriously, there are many more demands on my time these days and something simply has to give. I enjoy Hoops Dynasty and Sim Baseball too much to totally give up either, but I have cut back my HD activities from 6 worlds to 4 across my 2 ID's, and when I get fired from Knight on my other ID, I'll be down to 3 teams. I am not planning on giving up or moving from William Paterson until I win a National Tournament, so I'll be here awhile. But, as much as I have thouroughly enjoyed the competition and the admistration of the Shootout, I no longer can devote the attention it deserves from an organizational standpoint. So....

Unless one of you fine coaches (or someone who has been lurking) would like to assume the organizational duties of the Shootout (which I would gladly guide you through), Shootout XXIV will be the final Phelan Shootout.

I will have the schedule up shortly, as it will be a site flip-flop of the pool games and then playing the other crossover games. Once I can sit and start typing, it will take just a short time to get the schedule up.

If we have indeed reached the end of the road for the Shootout, please know that it has been a tremendous pleasure to compete against so many of you great coaches over the course of the last 19 months and that I look forward to continuing our rivalries in Non-Conference play, even if it isn't every year and there isn't a Wall of Champions to brag on.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank reddevil19 for all of his hard work and dedication to the Shootout. I have had a blast getting beat up every season by all of you great coaches but I think I will take this as my que to move to DII if I can find a job. I have remained at DIII to play in the shootout but without it I want to try my luck at a higher level. Thanks again reddevil and I hope we will meet again.

This is great to hear. I will of course remain a Shootout participant and will be glad to chip in with some administrative guidance.

I am so so sorry that I havent gotten to the schedule.  Life seemingly has been a 3 month clusterf*** for me and is exactly why I find myself needing to get out of the organizational aspect of this.  As of now we have a 10 team field.  I found a website that will more or less generate a schedule for me, so I will be able to get that out tomorrow, and we can get this going.  My sincerest apologies for the delays and my sincerest gratitude for your patience.

I can take over this ... as I work from home and really don't have much to do right now!
I'd gladly take over starting next season.

Well, when it rains, it pours.  I'm going to spare you the minutia but today's adventures in reddevil19 land included work computers crashing with viruses, having to run around off-campus procuring supplies for Homecoming tomorrow (today almost by now), and having a football player taken off a JV game in an ambulance.  I obviously didn't get the schedule done and at this point, I think its only right to allow everyone to salvage a schedule on your own and we re-organize in Season 31 under the guidance of andersaa and/or ixolabrat. 

I'll put this out in sitemail form as well.  I will accept any and all game requests for Season 30 and will try to get a few out to you guys as well as time permits.   Again, I cannot apologize enough for how this process unraveled for Season 30 and I do look forward to picking the ball up in Season 31 under new leadership.  Thanks a lot and good luck in the post season.
