What happens if you sign 2 Type A free agents in one year - who gets the first round draft pick, and do you give up more than one draft pick?

Yes, you do give up more than one draft pick.  You would lose your first and second (or second and third) round picks, and so on.

I believe (not positive) that the team that lost the better of the two type A's (as determined by the engine) gets the higher pick.

Your team gets better!  You only give up the 1st round pick if it is after pick 16.  They will get a 1st round sandwich pick and then, like tecwrg said, the other compensatory pick.

The team with the better record from the previous season gets the lower pick, worse record gets higher pick.

You will lose your top two (non-compensatory) picks below the 16th overall pick.
