The awards in general are all screwed up anyway. MLB does it so that you send in your players based on the theoretical opening day lineup. Second, they don't list their stats correctly either. They list those by the position on their profile, not where they have played the most games. Lets at least get some consistency.
But beyond that, the selection is so skewed toward defense, it makes it unbearable. Right now we have several first basemen in the top 5 MVP balloting because they are really OF's playing 1b and have great def stats, but rank near the bottom on offense. Their stats remind me of Derek Lee and Lyle Overbay. middle lower pack, but not somebody you would ever vote for as MVP. But because they have 20+ plays, they are in.
People vote for offensive players except at defensive positions, and even then rarely. Anybody else see this issue?
Of course I sent in a ticket and got back some lame response that sent me to a general knowledge article which had nothing. It doesn't affect the game play, but it does effect our enjoyment. Personally I should shut up since the offensive players these days are undervalued compared to defensive players.
