Even the most infallible cookie isn't immune from a bad team.  This is far and away the worst Addie Joss line I've ever had.  I suspect it will get better, because the team is more mediocre than terrible at 27-30.  Tully Sparks is 4-9 and Pete Alexander is somehow weathering the storm (as he always does) at 6-4.  I've never had a losing record with Pete Alexander.

I've used '08 Joss many times, and in different parks, but he never seems to give me a monster season.....

as I posted in one of the leagues where I am suffering with the 08 Joss, I must be suffering the withdrawal of a WIS crackhead. I have Joss in 4 current leagues and in all 4 he has an ERA approaching the national debt and has singlehandedly sabotaged one of my tourney teams from a playoff spot. just say no!!!!!

and the thing is.. prior to the last update, he was always a bona fide stud for me. I guess it a friggin' crapshoot as to who will do what after an update.

Bilfert jokes, but remember when Admin said a month or so ago that there was erroneous data entry on 25 pitchers, including Northrup and Babe Adams?  A lot of people assumed that it was simply to correct BB/9 that had been coded too high on a lot of deadball bullpen studs.  I said at the time... wouldn't it be funny if Joss `08 was one of the corrections in the other direction, and now he's pitching like "any ol'" $12.8 MM picher?

Tzentmeyer... would you be willing to post the 25 pitchers for whom you corrected data entry?  Thanks.

Joss went 12-2 to finish the season after a 9-12 start.

Wow, thunder, I've never seen Joss get slapped around like that, with an era approaching 4.00 after so many innings pitched.  He's always a stud for me and even won a championship for me (with Pete Alexander), which makes me wonder if he's just had the misfortune of pitching against good hitting teams a lot.

Mr. Joss was very annoyed that I scapegoated him and posted about his overwhelming underperformance, tarnishing his ubercookie rep.  He has now won four in a row and insisted that I update my post.  He is also demanding that, in the interests of full disclosure, I mention that I have pitched him at about 92/93% all season because my 3-man rotation of Joss, Pete Alexander `19 and Tully Sparks `06, though combining for 950 IP, doesn't seem to be combining for 950 IP in the right configuration to prevent a few fatigue issues.  So Mr. Joss demanded this post and a AAA fourth spot starter, and he will get both.

Started this thread when I was having far and away my worst Addie `08 season ever.  He was 4-11 with a 3.90 ERA.  He is now 14-13 through 103 games of an $80 MM OL and has gone 10-2 with an ERA of around 2.60 since I first posted.
