On my last day in Rupp... I would like to crown Girt25/Daalter as the Undisputed "Mega Bowl Champ"
9-10 seasons ago several of us had an idea that it would be fun to invade a division II world and see who could have success with about as level a playing field as there exists in HD. I labeled it the "Mega-Bowl" , we chose Rupp world since it had the least human coaches of any DII world and we began our race to the top of Rupp DII.
Dan had previously been in Rupp and was thus qualified for a DII job, so he didn't start at DIII, however he did wait a season before entering the game. In 2 seasons we had over 200 human coached teams in Rupp and for the last 7-8 seasons it has been the fullest and most competetive division probably in the game. There are other conferences that have been around in different worlds for along time... blah, blah, blah,,, but this world had more great coaches... spread across more conferences... with more humans fighting for the same recruits than any world at any level.
Girt25 landed in the ECC conference as did several other really good coaches. The ECC quickly became the #1 conference in RUPP and has remained there for the last several seasons. The last 4 seasons... Girt25 has won the title, had an E8, Final-4, and just last night won another title.
With the parity / randomness in the current game,,,, this is either ...#1. the best run of good luck ever,,,, #2. he's one of, if not the best coach / recruiter at this level today,,,,, or #3. he has been dating Seble's sister.
The "Mega-Bowl" really had some of the best coaches in the game today involved,,, BillyG, LM2. and several others with double digit titles were along for the ride and Dan has beat us all.
Sorry for the long-winded post,,,, I also am sorry if I come off as one of Dan's aliases,,, (since I really can't stand the guy), LOL.
