Same conference, School 1 B- baseline, School 2, B baseline. School 1 has 5 draftees in the selected period, School 2 has no draftees. How in the world do they have the same prestige?

Only thing I can think of is conference prestige and the fact since the baseline is B- school 2 hasn't done enough to make their prestige drop below the baseline and school 1 hasn't done enough to the prestige exceed the baseline. Also going back to season 20 is too far, all that matters is the last 4 seasons, and the last 2 seasons matter more than the 1st 2 seasons. So your Sweet 16 has less weight than your 9-18 and PI seasons.

When were the draftees? Draftees have a very minor impact on prestige (less than a third of a letter grade per draftee in my experience), and the associated prestige bump lasts only for the season immediately following the player being drafted (as I understand it... I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong). So for this comparison, you'd only be looking at draftees from the most recently completed season.

yeah, doomey, your draftees from 23 & 24 do nothing for you now, and those from 27 very little if anything. Otherwise, these are 2 up-and-down programs getting the same conference prestige boost. School 2's B baseline holds them up at B- despite a slightly worse last 4 seasons than School 1.

I know 10 seasons was too far, I was just establishing the trend. The base reality is that school 2 has only had one winning season in 10 and I, for the life of me, cannot understand how that equates to a B- in any scenario. What that really tells me is that the engine doesn't punish for losing seasons if the conference does well (although I somehow dropped in prestige with a 19 win season after dropping a 13 win one, while they maintained with a 13 win season dropping a 10...)

And you are right, prof, about the draftees, but I thought I'd put that out there.
