i know this topic has been discussed but i forget.  why are 6 year minor league free agents asking for $3 million a year for several years?  shouldn't they just want a shot at a 25 man roster and request around the minimum or ST w/ invites?  I feel like a lot of the 4A types get washed out when they could kick back and forth between the bigs and AAA for several seasons if simmy would just throw out a reasonable contract requirement.

Sometimes they come down. Sometimes they don't.
RL - "I've been getting paid $57K a year and need to decide whether to move on with my life. Ask for a ML contract, and if I don't get it, I'll go into insurance and start a family"

Agent asks for the top, brings it down, brings it down further, dude retires, starts a family, regales his grandkids with stories about the minor leagues.

Most minor league FA would jump at a major league job - that 327K is about 6 times what they received last season.   All those who ask for major league contracts should ask for the ML minimum.  In the rare case a MiL FA is worth more, teams will bid higher.
