Guys I just made a trade for offense and need to find a LRB from remaining free agents. LRB shouldn't be used much with my team, we play in Burlington and look like we should have very good starters. Usually I don't use mop up so I use LRB as a guy who comes in when the starter gets knocked out in the first or second inning, and then put his pitches at 75/90.

So what is the lowest stamina you would take? The reason I ask is because there are some guys with mid 40s stamina and mid 40s durability that look good. But most of the guys with 60+ stamina are picked over really well.

Do you think you could get by with a 43 stamina 48 durability guy in the long relief B role? And still set him at 75/90 assuming he won't be needed much?

You can get away with whoever you want at Long B depending on the makeup of your pitching staff and how often you need him to be available.

Here's the guy I signed. Considering we are 15 games into spring training I don't think he's a bad late pick up. The reason I think he may be a diamond in the rough is because to me he looks more like a long reliever than a short reliever in all areas but his stamina and durability. I guess he's signed so we will find out.

FWIW that guy is likely more than enough- my Long B's tend to be guys with ~ 30 stamina and ~ 60 DUR.  But I wouldn't have a problem playing a 50/20 guy, a 25/70 guy, a 90/10 guy, or really any sort of permutation.  Really the only qualification is that he should almost always be available when the rest of your staff is winded- I'd use a 20/40 guy if I had enough workhorses to eat up the rest of my IP.

Yeah, that guy's good for 100+ IP with an ERA probably in the mid-low 4's- he's a dynamite long B and a great value for that price.  I may even use him as a long A.

This is my long relief A guy. You may have a point. I might want to flip flop them. Long relief A guys tend to pitch more often but not necessarily as many innings in each outing. At least that has been my experience.

Pretty cool to have a long reliever with a 112-61 career record. LOL But my biggest problem is that if anyone gets hurt I have nothing in the minors to speak of. This is a total project. I took a team that went 40-122 last season and my goal is to get them to the playoffs. We shall see. The team I inherited only had like 19 million in returning payroll and I traded all but 5.4 million of that. So basically I put 115 million into free agents. There are 22 new faces on the roster but a bunch of them are old guys that will be gone next season.

My Long Relief B is the best starting pitcher in my system that did not make it as one of my starters or my LRA ;)

I rarely go into free agency for a Long Relief B - I dont use a Mopup guy so this is the last person in my bullpen and is usually either a Rule 5 selection or the best AAAA pitcher I have.

I'd never use a rule 5 SP as a Long B unless someone screwed up and I had the #1 pick.  Every IP counts.
