unhappy redshirt Topic

hey, so I got this freshman and redshirted him and he had a lot of potential but was unhappy cause i didnt discuss it with him and his work ethic dropped to a 10. Am i suppose to discuss redshirting with the recruits during the recruiting process? if I retract the redshirt will his work ethic go back up?

Some players you you need to inform of redshirt others you don't. I think nowadays it's more likely that you need to inform them in order to get them to accept it without losing a bunch of WE. When you do inform them you will also need to put in extra recruiting effort to make sure they sign with you. But yes all you have to do is retract it and his WE will go back up.

Its worth trying it though because if he is unhappy you just undo it and there is no harm done.

Hey I had the same deal in the last season.  WE dropped 50 points when i applied the redshirt.  I removed the red shirt and his WE went back up to the original WE and then I reapplied the redshirt.  When I did this his WE remained at the beginning level.  Got an email later that said it was the right decision.

onefastlook--how long did you wait between removing the redshirt and reapplying it for a second time?

Some players will never take it, some will take it but it takes multiple tries and others take it the first time. If you inform them of redshirt during recruiting you got to throw out extra effort such as visits or he'll stop considering you. If they don't take it without the inform of redshirt when they show up you can just take it off no harm done and the WE loss goes right back to normal. WE is very important in this game, so I'd remove the redshirt to re-gain his WE.

I thought Dan said you weren't moving up? Anyways, if you got any other questions site mail me or Dan - he sucks though.
