15 big 6 teams open in knight Topic

there are 15 big 6 teams open in knight, including the 34-1 defending NT winners syracuse and elite team uconn.  If anyone is eligible, a great time to move up and or move around.

If only I had had a better season at Zona, I would be moving someplace good where the distances are not so annoyingly far

I'm moving on up from Arky State finally...got my eye on the Hoosiers.

I have had my eye on the Hoosiers as well but my team has just been terrible as i rebuild it. If i would have known that job was going to open up I might have stayed in DII for another year and taken a better DI team the following year. Instead i have a rebuild team right in the middle of a the recruiting database changing. It has been brutal the last 2 years. Hopefully i can turn it around here soon with an easier schedule and hopefully the recruiting evening out.

I think getting jobs for the elite A baseline programs should be very difficult to get and just as tough to keep. They should have accelerated firing rates. Example: the Duke program in Knight has been destroyed in just two seasons and that coach should not be allowed to continue.

However, the lower BCS schools should be more easily attainable than current requirements and the slower firing schedule is probably right on target.

OR, this is my biggest complaint with HD.  My last three seasons at LeMoyne-NC, Elite-8 and Final Four.  I only qualify for the teams you mention that have sub .500 records.  I don't qualify for Baylor, Seton hall, Uconn, Florida State and the list goes on.  With the reward points the way they are, it is to my benefit to stay at a top Div II school, rather than jump up and be fodder for the top schools.  I dropped down to Div II when I had Eastern Illinois because the smaller schools never get past the first or second rounds and I was never qualified for a big school. they really need to do something about the hiring process. It is too difficult to get to some of the better schools.

bjc - I think it is easier to move up than ever - in the 'old' days, we had to start with a very low end school regardless of how top notch the d2 program was, then move to a mac type school, then often a low end bcs, until one was able to get a high end school, 4 moves total.  I am pretty sure these days a top d2 coach can get to a school like duke or unc with just 2 moves - say an A10 school then duke / UNC.  Not against the current way, just saying it already has gotten easier, not sure how much easier it should get?

People are finally starting to speak with their Credit Cards :)

Before you move up you just might want to ask the question "Why are so many people leaving?" They weren't all fired like I was!
Even your firing was BS though g0at!

OR, I wasn't around for the "old days", but I just know that I spent many seasons at E. Illinois consistently making the tourney and never becoming qualified for a Big 6 school.  So I dropped down to get my alma mater.  I would only leave this school for one of the better Big 6 schools, especially if I can get the same rewards at the Div II level. My complaint is that there is little incentive to move up to an A10 school the way recruiting is now and get the crap beat out of you as a little fish in when you can stay at Div II as a big fish and reap bigger rewards. I couldn't even qualify for a Florida State team that won less than 10 games. I'm not saying I should be able to get one of the top schools in Div I, but I would think my resume would get me at least a chance at the mid level Big 6 schools. I wasn't even qualified for Seton Hall or St. John's in the Big East and they were mediocre at best last season. And to goat's point, with so many leaving the game because of the changes, why would I want to jump up and get more frustrated? I'm not disagreeing with your point, but more a complaint as to why so many are growing frustrated with this game. There is little incentive to go to the smaller schools that can't compete for recruits with the big fish at Div I the way the game is structured right now.

I grabbed UConn after the final four appearance with VCU. other school i applied for at the same time was Illinois, which was still open last I looked.

Agreed, but it didn't matter. There was little hope of recovering after the recruiting change, I transferred the remaining season I had on Knight to Tark. WIS just made it easier on me to cut down on teams!

Maybe I'll look into Knight again in the future when it's less crowded and the lack of D1 recruits is not as big an issue...not sure how successful the "ignore the problem it will fix itself when enough paying customers quit playing in a crowded world " "plan" will work... odd business model for sure!  :)

I guess I will just content myself if they can keep the hamsters running and SIM games on time :p

I couldn't help myself, I had to scoop up Ole Miss. I am thankful for the opportunity to move up to a bcs school although the mass exodus does leave me a little concerned about the game's future.
