In regards to pitchers,

1) In what order do of importance would you list the cores of a pitcher?

2) Is it better to have a higher control and lower splits or vise versa?

I was looking at a pitcher with the potential of 100 core but splits were in the low 50's.  I'm trying to fing out what makes a good pitcher.  I've seen awesom guys, or what I think would be awesome but their stamina is in the igh teens.  Seems kinda pointless to get a pitcher for only 1-2 innings if that.

Thanks fellas.

Pitch splits, Vs R , control, GB/FB ratio.  Stadium dimensions factor in pretty high as well.

whats the min. in splits that one would consider for a major league player?   I was told or once read it was 50.

The point about factoring in your stadium is a good one - different pitchers can succeed under different circumstances. In a large park, with a good defense, you might get away with lower splits if you have high control. In a small park, splits and Gr may matter more. Best to look at pitchers in your world in similar parks as yours who are successful and see what traits they have in common - don't forget to consider the defense behind them.

I dont know if I would ever put a hard minimum on any rating. They work as a combination. A guy with splits in the high 60's is not going to be very good with pitches of 58, 52, 39. But, a pitcher with 48/58 splits could be usable with pitches of 91, 82, 73 and good control.

Generally speaking, I look for at least 60+ in vRH, for both hitter and pitcher. vLH can be a little weaker.
